A sunny day in the Duchy of Rosti with target practice amidst the Spring flowers.
The General reminds his men to be ever vigilant for Army Red/White now the mountain passes are open again, the snow melted and the Spring flowers are in bloom.

New arrivals in Rosti
Due the kindness of Joppy (thanks again) I now have two utterly splendid Generals-
They are shocked at the scruffy looking garrison and have requested that I ( in my capacity as Quartermaster/painter) smarten up the infantry with a lick ( or more) of paint before the campaign season begins. Yes sir ,right away sir!

Duchy of Rosti
One of the lesser known outposts of the British Empire is the Duchy of Rosti which lies upon the Swiss border. It's sovereignty was bequeathed to the British Crown by the last Duke. It is a land of mountains and lakes,a miniature version of Switzerland itself. The British garrison is a hotch potch of troops under the ever watchful eye of Major General Mackay.
A British spy of somewhat dubious provenance has reported that the Swiss intend to invade the Duchy this summer and claim it back for Switzerland...
The above being a conceit to fight alfresco Funny Little Wars betwixt Army Red and Army Red/White come the better weather.More information soon...

Versatile figures for Army Red/White
I have been painting some figures for Army Red/White. They are so versatile in that they could serve in Army Red/White from the Great War to the 1970s. Should cover all the bases for FLW !
Thee figures are 54mm semi flats ( homecasts I imagine) and mix well with a variety of figures.
I have some more to paint up.

The idea of an idea for summer
Although the Duchy has been beset by 50 mph winds today I popped out after a little gardening to set up a wee idea I have had brewing after finding this picture and locating information about 18th century Switzerland and her lake borne galley fleets.
Now a try of my 28mm Vauban stuff ( bought around 1986?) with 40mm Prince August as garrison-
We shall see. What do you think?

All one needs to add are some buildings inside to represent the town...
Another view-
Maybe even a lake and galleys on it- less sure about this bit...
